Therapist apply oil to the skin and use their hands, forearms, or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles, enhancing mental and physical relaxation. Massage (Thai)

Thai massage is a healing tradition that originated in India over 2,500 years ago. Unlike other massage styles that typically use long, flowing strokes and kneading, Thai massage employs stretching, pulling, and rocking techniques to relieve tension, enhance flexibility, and stimulate the flow of energy throughout the body.

Thai massage includes rhythmic compression along the body‘s energy lines, known as "sen" in Thai, combined with deep, yoga-like stretches while the practitioner uses their hands, feet, elbows, and knees to move the client into various yoga-like positions. This form of passive stretching can increase flexibility, relieve joint and muscle tension, and balance the body's energy systems.

The massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor with the client fully clothed in a loose-fitting top and pants provided by the therapist. No oils or lotions are used throughout the session and a Traditional Thai Massage typically takes two hours to complete (however we do offer shorter sessions). It's a perfect blend of massage and stretching, often nicknamed "Yoga for lazy people" as the therapist does all the movements for you.

The sessions are performed by a Registered Massage Therapist

Massage (Cupping)

Cupping massage is a type of therapeutic treatment that has its roots in ancient Chinese medicine. The practice involves placing either silicone or plastic cups on the skin, usually on the back, and creating a vacuum seal, which results in suction. This draws up the underlying tissues, promoting blood flow and helping to relieve muscle tension. The cups may be placed statically in once place or dynamically moved across the target area.

Cupping is a great way to supplement a massage. It's considered beneficial for reducing pain, inflammation, boosting blood circulation, promoting relaxation, and well-being. It can also serve as a type of deep-tissue massage. Red cupping marks may be left on the treated area for up to a few weeks later but rest assure, the marks aren't painful. In addition to cupping, Swedish massage techniques are applied during the session.

This service is performed by a registered massage therapy services.

Massage (Prenatal)

A prenatal massage is a therapeutic treatment specifically tailored for the unique needs of pregnant women. It focuses on relieving the physical discomforts and emotional stress that can accompany pregnancy. During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes numerous changes, which can lead to aches, pains, and tension in the muscles. Prenatal massages are designed to alleviate these discomforts through specialized techniques that are safe and beneficial for both the mother and baby. The goal of a prenatal massage is often to boost circulation, reduce swelling in the legs and feet, and relieve muscle tension. Besides physical benefits, prenatal massage can also have psychological benefits. It can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, and promote overall wellbeing.

We offer two prenatal massage styles: Swedish and Thai.

Swedish massage, a popular Western therapy, employs flowing strokes and deep-pressure techniques by using hands, forearms, or elbows with the application of oil. . For ensuring utmost comfort, a pregnancy cushion is providing, allowing expectant mothers to lie comfortably face down throughout the duration of their pregnancy.

Thai massages on the other hand use stretching and rocking techniques without the application of oil. Clients are provided with loose-fitting clothes and the massage is performed on a padded floor mat. Client will lay either on their side and back throughout the session.

Both options are great for prenatal up until full term!

Sessions are performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

*NEW* Fascia Stretch Therapy™ [RMT]

*Currently being offered either by an RMT (covered under registered massage therapy) or by an FST Therapist (covered under a Lifestyle Spending Account)*

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a unique and systematic type of therapy designed to improve flexibility, mobility, and strength. 'Fascia' refers to the connective tissue that encases muscles, organs, nerves, and blood vessels in your body. Over time, fascia can become stiff or scarred due to injuries, poor posture, or inadequate training methods.

FST aims to enhance the elasticity and health of the fascia, leading to improved athletic performance, increased range of motion, reduced pain, and enhanced recovery from workouts. The therapy is performed by a certified FST therapist or trained RMT who manually stretches the patient’s body in undulating and spiral patterns, synchronizing their movements with the patient's breath.

Instead of targeting isolated muscles, FST considers the body as a connected system, stretching entire fascial lines or chains to promote flexibility throughout the body. The therapy is performed on a treatment table, equipped with comfortable straps to stabilize the limbs or body parts not being worked on.

FST is gentle, pain-free, and relaxing. It's beneficial for everyone from athletes seeking peak performance to older adults looking for enhanced mobility and pain relief. It provides an effective complement to other therapeutic modalities and can play a crucial role in comprehensive treatment and wellness plans.
